i'm going crazy. hope to find a job soon, there's been so many screw ups in my jobs, not working for my uncle anymore, going to find a job anew! hope it'll be ok. =X

i'm back from kukup!!! =)

it deifintely feels good to be home. The place there was great, i mean fancy living ON a swamp. When we first arrived, it was high tide but the load of rubbish was just overwhleming, though the people living there didn't seem the least bit bothered by the smell it was emitting. Anyhow, we had lunch at this seafood restaurant the moment we were there, and our bags were delivered to the "chalet" for us. "Chalet" cause it was kind of our home for the last 2 days but it was rented. Anyways, the place were HUGE. Despite being rather poor, the people there seem to own BIG houses. As in REALLY BIG, those that only the rich in singapore can afford.

So what was really cool about that place was you could tell when someone was bathing because water just gushes out of a hole at the bottom of their houses, and the people there were all watching singapore drama serials on channel 8, which was rather unexpected to me(maybe i'm dumb but ya) So we checked into our respective rooms and it so happen that the room my family took had no lights. =( well not literally but our room light was spoilt. Thus, we lived in dark for the last 2 days.

Basically, all we did there was LITERALLY EAT and SLEEP. Honest. AND, we were SERVED, breakast AND dinner. Dinner was bbq but all we had to do was SIT and wait to be served. Felt really useless there but its their way of making a livelihood so we couldn't really do anything. The portion though was way too much, the food was just overwhleming, i mean its just WAAAA.

Anyways, what i felt most memorable about that place was the toilet, the mudskippers, rats, crabs and the fireworks which we lit ourselves. WE MADE FIREWORKS!!! =))) it was way cool. i mean it was simple but it was scary. some of us were even shaking when lighting the fireworks. we practically RAN the moment we saw the sparks start. The lady who was hired by the owner of that house to cook for us had 3 sons i think. And on the bbq night, his oldest son together with his friends were teaching us how to let off the fireworks and seeing us tremble and run really gave them i good laugh i believe. There was this really special gigantic ball which the lady who sold us said we could hold it, but the guy advised us to put it on the bamboo pole and we did. Thank goodness no one held it cause the fireworks went in circles hysterically and shot out so much that anyone who've held it would drop it immediately.

About the toilets. everything just goes into the swamp. EVERYTHING. and it so happened i had my thing. i felt so disgusted. =X So anyways, i still love that place nevertheless and i recommand it to those who just really one a day away from the busy hustle from city life.

I stayed there for 2 days and a night which is a very appropriate period of time cause it was JUST nice. And you're adviced to go in groups of 10 or more because they rent houses which can accomadate up to 30 people i believe? at least the last time me uncle went with 30 people, they stayed rather comfortably.

i hope to go there again, the kids there(mostly teenage guys, little girls) are all rather friendly. Life there is simple, but somehow, i'm just glad to be back home again. =)

this morning, i HAD to accompany mei yi to some journalism scholarship seminar held at the raffles city convention centre. it was really cool. enlightening at some points and it sort of reinforced why i don't really want to enter that industry. simply because my language is LOUSY, =( anyhow, i'm glad to know that there are many aspiring journalists-to-be out there who just wants to do all they can for the society and i happen to know of 1 such person which is my bestie mei yi. yeah! u can do it!! =)

i left my house once again with 0 cents. as in ZERO. can u believe it!! argh!! so in the end, i borrowed 11++ from mei yi so she'll be glad to know she isn't broke. just that the broke person here has no $$ to pay you back currently. =X anyways, thankfully, their tea break was good. GOOD FOOD indeed. we didn't exactly eat a lot lar, but it was enough to fill. the whole thing ended around 12 and we headed back to tampines. she wanted to go to soka while i wanted to pass time before meeting my classmates at changi "interchange".

although i wanted to go home early cos my mum kept nagging and saying me as in she just kept putting me down for going out but i felt like i needed to go for this may be the last time i see all these people who've been a part of me for the past 2 years. i really didn't like that feeling. i mean each and everyone of them was special in a different way and although we were never really that close, somehow or other, its just slowly becomes a habit to just see them everyday at school but it won't ever happen now. we're all going different ways but i know no matter where we are and where we'll be going, we'll all meet again somehow, someday and someplace. and it'll be so cool then cos we're all grown up, settled down, have our families and i just hope to see their radiant smiles once again.

i also have a dream with my besties. i hope someday, when we've all found our partners that we could on one gathering, sit at the subway in suntec, the girls and one table and the boyfriends at the other ALL chatting away happily. my dream is that every single 1 there will feel like they've known each other for a long long time. that'll be so cool ain't it. and as the years pass, someday, maybe we'll be there again, wives at a table, husbands at another, and KIDS at yet another. hahah. in fact, i wish it could happen to everyone i know. maybe for my class it'll be at yet another chalet, or perhaps at pasta mania. who knows. for now, i think i'll just dream. =)

i think i'm finally over the "hangover" from prom. its retarted cause i didn't even drink so how to get a hangover rite. haha.. anyhow, must be from all the excitment and wildness of tt night.
ok, i wanna talk all about that night of glitz and glamour.
Firstly, i must say that all the girls looked gorgeous and the guys looked shuai.
well of course there are some that looked extremely outstanding. =) *gushes*
can't take it. hm, let's see, i think my class girls who stood out the most was valr, wenting and bernie. they looked great, i'm sure the guys would agree too.
class guys, i didn't really manage to see so can't really comment. hm.. there wasn't anyone who was unrecognisable actually, i could tell who was who so ya, unlike grad night. even though we were all girls, there were some you really couldn't tell who they were anymore cause their transformation was too huge.

so anyways, let me start with FOOD.
the funniest thing when i first sat there was all my class girls started asking about the food. and while the showhost kept talking and people made their speeches, our minds never left FOOD. well, the speeches were entertaining i must say, esp the council president of our year, i think he's a really great speaker. Don't think i've ever fallen asleep once during his speeches, they length was always just right. =)

ok, then after all the speeches, the showhost rod monterio finally said something about food and you could literally see my whole table of girls faces brighten up. haha. well i mean we did pay 80 bucks for the FOOD. first it was bread, perhaps to fill our stomachs a little first cause they definitely knew we were starving. =X
our first main course was "smoked" salmon with something. the "smoked" salmom didn't look the least bit smoked to me. it looked RAW. =( super sad about it, maybe cause i belong to the middle brow so i don't eat such high class food but anyhow, they should have just given us all COOKED food rite. what if some people couldn't take half-raw or raw or whatsoever. HAI.
next, we had COOKED fish. =)))) but sadly, i couldn't finish it.
what's more heart-breaking was the fact that i really couldn't stuff the brownie down!!! it was so nice!!! i want somemore. =( i couldn't even finish that choc stick. =((( and i only finished the crust. =(

my stomach became so bloated i had to loosen my belt a little. oops. hee...
i know i'm greedy but its 80 bucks mar.. =X so anyways, i felt the service was quite good. =) and the guys in charge of our table were rather friendly and i knew some of my classmates were oogling at them. WAHAHA.
guess i didn't manage to eat to my max cause the excitment was just drowning me until the food didn't seem so mouth-watering anymore. Furthermore, my heart was thumping so fast for goodness knows what reason. ARGH!!!

i mean seriously. when i went to the salon that afternoon, mei yi had just finish trimming her hair, and was about to start the make up. i got really intrigued ok. and i got a little high so i started snapping photos of her. i mean her skin became totally FLAWLESS. it was amazing. here's an extremely CUTE picture of her after her make up which enlarged her eyes by a size or 2. wahaha!!

ok, then she started doing her hair and cheryl came and i went to eat with mei yi's mum. had a prata, it was a treat. didn't want to eat anthing initially cos didn't want my stomach to be protruding out but i just ate anyways cause my stomach just had to have something. so ate and went back and mei yi's hair looked erm, unique.

initially i was suppose to do mine after mei yi's but cheryl did first cause i was a little more troublesome. had to wear my dress before i did my make up and hair cause mine was a slip on dress. changed there in their little dressing room with no proper room, but who cares, anyways everyone there was girls. the male hairdresser sat outside. so in the midst of all the make-up, cheryl just couldn't help but shooting out her 2 fingers. it got us so irritated we just started counting. here's her.

the lady started commenting on our face shape and our skin and how our make-up was done, why she made cheryl's face appear shape and mine a little fatter. *shrugs* we didn't say much i mean, she's the professional.

i felt the make up was cool, oh! and my hair! here's the back of my hair!

so after we did our make up, we rushed back to mei yi's house (courtesy of her dad whose so sweet as to send us back) and we started packing like mad dogs, stuffing things here and there and trying to keep her house as tidy as possible. mei yi steam ironed cheryl's dress which was crumpled as we all know and mei yi's mum was trying to sew my front of the dress. for modesty reasons. heehee. and there mei yi's dad was telling us don't worry, take your time and there we were frantically running up and down the house. super comical i tell you.

in the car we had calls coming asking "where are you all? you're late you know" and our reply, " is the food up already?" wahaha! so we rushed to madarin hotel first where mei yi and cheryl unloaded their stuff at the hotel room. and we proceeded to ritz.

we walked till our legs hurt. thank goodness mei yi and my shoes were seasoned. cheryl's and jocelyn's were new so i guess they must have blisters all over. poor things. it kinda hurts to see their feet like tt. but i guess vanity comes at a cost. =) next time, always remember to BITE your shoes. i mean literally bite it(tt's what i'm told at least) hehe...

so when we were there, our eyes just couldn't stop marvelling at how amazing everyone looked. =) we were chased into the ballroom, and i was the last to be seated. oops. thankfully we weren't the latest. haha...

before we stepped in right, cheryl and mei yi kept complaning their dress was too tight. couldn't breathe and all. and i thought my heart was going to drop into my liver from all the excitment which was scary. elshan my sis-in law looked sooooo good i think mei yi wanted to bite him and never let go. WAHAHA.

ok ok, anyways, back to where i was. the food thing. so during all the intervals, they had lucky draws and i must say, some of the prizes are really attractive. but sadly, 03** was hardly ever called. it was always 00** or 04** or 02**. i guess the only consolation is that one of my class guys won a hi-fi set. wohoo! haha.

the frantic search for pple to snap photos ended up with many missing pple in my photographs. i didn't manage to take pictures with all the class guys, neither did i suceed in taking pictures with my many other friends. but anyhow, prom night was a night truly memorable.

After the whole celebration, we headed for DXO. it was o be my first time clubbing and i guess its exciting. the way led by vernon and gang was a super duper long road which made us whine again and again. the class guys poofed without waiting for us lar so i suppose i must thank vernon and gang for showing us the way. thank you! (if u ever read this)

the queue was LONG. and i felt like just sitting on the pavement but it would be too unglam so i talked and talked to keep my mind busy. the moment we entered the club, your heart beats to the sound of the bass. seriously and i thought i was dying or something. but thank goodness i wasn't the only one. it was very dim so i had a problem trying to keep up and find people. and if u wanted to recieve or make a call, u literally gotta scream. In fact, trying to talk to people became a chore. i guess the best form of communication was dancing.

so mei yi was saying that one must get drunk before she/he will really dance crazily, but i formulated my cheap and good theory! since everyone is gonna get drunk, then you should just abstain and dance wildly(even if you don't know how to, like me) cause no one will notice since everyone is drunk!! then you won't even have to spend a single cent on drinks. =))))

so it was amazing lar, sweaty bodies all around the dance floor, something i guess i gotta get used to sooner or later. However, i don't think i'll be stepping into a club anytime soon cause the crowd chokes me, and my cilia will die faster than i want it to, and i don't think its suitable for people like me who can't shake their butts. haha.

oh ya!! i haven commented on the prom king & queen and best dress male & female. I think they deserved to win lar though some dresses were erm, rather bare but i guess taste is relative ya? haha. congrats to all the winners! guess i'll end here. excitments over, but it was truly a night to remember forever and if ever asked about my best memory of tpjc, i would definitely say "prom night" =)

take care all! and a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TAN MEI YI, and KENNETH. getting older yeah? haha. take care!

ps. mei yi isEXTREMELY happy today cause someone remembered to wish her happy birthday. *grinz* and you can view some of the pom pictures under "pictures". =)
